The three children (named above) came from Ireland on a boat to some place in Georgia. They were sent by their family to the United States to save them from harm because of the civil unrest that was taking place in that country. I don't know who their parents or other family members were. I don't even know if they had any other brothers or sisters that were left behind in Ireland. There were two boys and one girl. One of the boys, Louis Bell, never married and died leaving no descendents. All of the Bell family name, that we know we are related to, descended from the other brother. His name was Joe Kirkland Bell. The girl's name was Lucretia Bell. She married Joe Proveaux and had children. The Bell family listed here are descendants of Joe K. Bell.

This is not a complete listing of the family. There is a lot of information missing. This is only a listing of the information that I have obtained at this time (01-12-2004).

The three brothers and sisters are the basis of the Bell family tree. The other families listed are those who are part of the Bell family through marriage. This family tree is originally intended for the ancestors and descendants of NEWTON E. BELL b. July 4, 1946.

The other surnames are those that are connected with the Bell family. It will be better to begin with the Bell family and then look at the others as you see more of the way each family is connected. For example: Lucretia was one of the original three and she married Joe Proveaux which brings in the Proveaux family.

There are many more families that can be involved. The Polk family would be one because Joe K. Bell, one of the original three, married Susan Polk. There are blank buttons that are for other familes as time progresses.
