And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Rom 13:11
"I personally believe we're beginning to see some of the signs of the Second Coming of Christ seven years in advance of their ultimate fulfillment, but already
beginning in their elementary stage as we view the world today." Dr. David Jeremiah
The Lord is soon to return and we should be looking for Him and expecting this to take place at any time, especially
as we see the fulfilment of Scripture to the point that it is today. People look at the world's condition and compare it
to those of times past saying, "When this or that took place didn't people say the same thing? Didn't they think that
Jesus was about to return during those times?" We would expect those who are called by His name to be in anticipation
and having an expectation of this great event. Though there are many who do have this hope alive in them as did the
early church, we see most of God's people have fallen into the condition of the scoffers that the Bible predicts would be in
the last days (2 Peter 3:3).

Is the church of the last days ready for the coming of the Lord? According to the Scriptures it isn't.
The problem, according to the Scriptures, is that the church of the last days doesn't realize it.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the
creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that
the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Why Do People Doubt Their Salvation?
People doubt their salvation because:
They trust in feelings rather than the word of God."He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool:. . ." Proverbs 28:26
They are confused by the simplicity of salvation."But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from THE SIMPLICITY that is in Christ." 2 Corinthians 11:3
They trust in tradition or church teachings rather than the word of God."Making the word of God of none effect through your TRADITION,. . ." Mark 7:13
They trust in their own righteousness.". . . and all OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES are as filthy rags;. . ." Isaiah 64:6
They misapply and misunderstand scriptures. They misapply scriptures such as Matthew 24:13, Hebrews 10:26 to the church age of grace, when they doctrinally apply to the tribulation or the millenium.
They have NEVER been saved."Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;. . ." Matthew 7:21
We have heard said by many government officials that a good economic crisis should not be wasted. They encite fear and use that fear to increase
authority and control over the people. During these uncertain times 90 percent of people without Christ will ask the question, 'Where is God in this?'
This means that others, when they are in confusion, will look to us for leadership because we have the hope of Jesus Christ who said, "
It is I; be not afraid." (John 6:20)
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
We may not know the day nor the hour, but we are commanded to know when it is near.
1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Luk 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
Luk 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Luk 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Luk 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and
drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
