Seventy Lambs

Laborers in the Lord's Harvest!

"After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laboures are few : pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves."   -- Luke 10:1-3

Are we listening to the watchman?

Eze 3:17-21 - Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Jesus is coming soon!

Why Should We Be Looking For Jesus To Return?

For starters, Jesus said he would return and we should believe what Jesus said. Jesus said we were to watch for Him to come. Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.; Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Another obvious reason is the fact that he hasn't returned. Had he returned, there would be no reason to look for his return.

The Lord is soon to return and we should be looking for Him and expecting this to take place at any time, especially as we see the fulfilment of Scripture to the point that it is today. People look at the world’s condition and compare it to those of times past saying, “When this or that took place didn’t people say the same thing? Didn’t they think that Jesus was about to return during those times?” We would expect those who are called by His name to be in anticipation and having an expectation of this great event. Though there are many who do have this hope alive in them as did the early church, we see most of God’s people have fallen into the condition of the scoffers that the Bible predicts would be in the last days (2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. ).

We have stopped looking for our Lord to return and, like the prodigal son, have started looking for what He can do for us in the here and now. It is time for us to repent and return to our first love and to looking for the true Christian hope of the return of our Lord.
